Hosted by John Bauer, JBT Product Manager for Freezers, the JBTConnect webinar will look in detail at the advantages offered by the CleanFREEZE’s incredible features, including external fan motors and Clean-in-Place (CIP) technology.
Radical redesign The newly-launched CleanFREEZE marks a step-forward from the long-standing Northfield SuperTRAK Structure Supported Spiral Freezer, with a system that offers innovations in both hygiene and cleaning. A radical redesign of the freezer has been focused on making the machine easier and faster to clean and has significantly reduced the risk of bacterial growth across the structure.
According to Bauer, the CleanFREEZE takes the original SuperTRAK design and adds new hygienic features, including innovations that differentiate the CleanFREEZE freezer from other spiral freezers and go beyond what is currently available on the wider market.
The JBTConnect Northfield CleanFREEZE Spiral Freezer webinar will take place on June 24, 2021 at 03:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)
The ability of the TIPPER TIE TTSealH to increase productivity and lower costs for companies sealing sausage meats and other products with high speed clippers will be the subject of a new JBTConnects Webinar on May 20, with customers able to find out how the system can make a noticeable difference to throughput across a range of industries.
A productivity accessory for the TIPPER TIE TT1815 or TT1512 double clippers, the TTSealH delivers key performance benefits to meat processors, as well as to chemical, confectionary, and dairy manufacturers. The precision-engineered state-of-the-art system for packaging pumpable product improves productivity and lowers packaging costs for processors seeking greater throughput beyond the capabilities of bench clippers or semi-automatic closure machines.
Key benefits “The TTSealH is a heat-seal machine which converts flat-stock film into a sealed casing, which can then be stuffed with any pumpable product,” explains TIPPER TIE’s Conrad Faust. “The big advantage here is that instead of using a more expensive pre-shirred casing which has to be changed every 90 seconds when you are running quickly, the flat-stock film heat-seal machine will eliminate those casing changes. Instead of having to change casings every 90 seconds, you only have to change a roll of film every three or four hours, or longer depending on the product.
“That gives you a lot more productivity and throughput during the course of the day, as well as reducing your cost because the flat-stock films can be cheaper than a pre-shirred casing and a lot less waste.”
JBT Avure will be hosting a free HPP webinar on Wednesday March 3 at 10 AM EST to discuss how High Pressure Processing can make a substantial difference for seafood customers, both in terms of yield and profit. Joining Dr Errol Raghubeer, Avure VP of Food Science, will be John Hathaway, CEO of Shuck’s Maine Lobster, who will be telling us first-hand of his experience using HPP with seafood.
A cold pasteurization process, HPP uses ultra-high pressure purified water to keep seafood both shell and pathogen free. Already used in several segments of the food industry to inactivate foodborne pathogens, HPP provides an approved process in the oyster industry for the inactivation of Vibro bacteria which carries a high risk for the consumption of raw oysters and other shellfish.
Crucially, as well as extending shelflife and improving nutrition, mouthfeel and taste, HPP separates 100% of meat from the shells without the use of heat, and increases total meat yield in lobster by 80% compared to heat.
JBT Avure’s Marketing Director for HPP technologies, Lisa Wessels, said: “Our customer John Hathaway fromShuck’s Maine Lobster has experience of the difference HPP has made for lobsters. When you HPP lobster, you get 100% separation of the meat from the shell, whereas you never get that with manual shucking. It also retains more fluid after going through HPP versus manual, so that helps improve the weight and helps make the lobster a little more profitable.”
HPP can be used for all types of shellfish, including oyster, clam and shrimp.
The SVU6800features an innovative mechanical design with an emphasis on productivity and reliability, make it the fastest automatic double clipper in its class. Initially introduced as a prototype at IFFA in 2019, the SVU6800 has since had a design revision and the first machines – sold between late 2020 and early 2021 – have been well received by customers.
Capable of handling products from 50-200 millimeters in diameter, with a top speed of 65 pieces/minute, the unit includes a very powerful voider so it can void through whole muscle products. It can be paired with the JBT Schröder HAMAX800 Whole Muscle Stuffer for a complete whole muscle product solution. For other applications, it features an optional slack-fill module for formed or natural shaped products.
Cost efficient However, what makes the SVU6800 really stand out, says Conrad Faust, Director of Product Management at TIPPER TIE, is the machine’s mechanical design. “The previous model used a lot of pneumatics, so its air consumption was high,” he explains. “This is significant because compressed air is the biggest cost in a lot of plants. This change also eliminated a lot of the sensors that are required in a pneumatic machine. The mechanical design makes it a lot faster, more cost efficient, and more reliable.”
The other great advantage of the SVU6800, continues Faust, is a robust, powerful design, which is targeted for maximum uptime and longer gaps between required maintenance or parts replacement. “The SVU6800 delivers an innovative, hygienic design; powerful, effective functionality, and a very low requirement for maintenance, for an overall lower total cost of ownership” he adds.
