Campinas, Brazil will be the setting for JBT’s first technical seminar focused on High Pressure Processing (HPP) systems from JBT Avure in the South America region on November 6. Taking place in the city’s Hotel Comfort Suites, the one-day event will explore the potential of food processors develop clean label products with extended shelf life.
In the morning, the seminar will include presentations about the technology’s working principle, its technical and commercial advantages and some success stories from JBT customers, including a look at how HPP has helped Chile-based CIAL Alimentos, a leading packaged food processor which produces everything from sliced ham to hamburgers and meatballs.
Apart from JBT’s specialists, the event will also feature the presence of PhD Marcelo Cristianini from the University of Campinas (Unicamp), one of the leading HPP experts in Brazil, and Willie Brand, CEO of HPPSA, the biggest HPP tolling center in South Africa.
In the afternoon, there will be a visit to an HPP experimental unit located in Unicamp, where delegates will have the chance to process samples and taste HPP-treated products.
JBT will be highlighting its ability to deliver effective cooking solutions as well as upcoming innovations that will help ensure juicer and higher yielding end products at this year’s Gulfood Manufacturing 2019 trade exhibition, which takes place in Dubai’s World Trade Center from October 29-31. Cooking solutions will form just one element of a complete portfolio being presented by JBT that will also include innovative tray sealing and x-ray technologies.
Ahead of JBT’s participation at the event, Roland Collet, JBT Regional Sales Manager for the Middle East and Africa, explained that the focus would be on highlighting the breadth of JBT solutions on offer, including High Pressure Processing (HPP) from JBT Avure; a clean label pasteurization system which can deliver positive benefits for product quality and shelf-life.
The JBT booth at Gulfood Manufacturing will also feature some of the newest additions to the JBT family, including tray-sealing specialist Proseal, as well as more established solutions fromJBT Schöder – a globally recognized provider of injection and marination systems.
One area of special focus at this year’s show, however, will be JBT’s cooking solutions, according to Collet. “We are seeing more and more demand for fully cooked products, so we are developing a combined cooking solution, which will bring together contact cooking and the JBT impingement oven to get a juicier and higher yield end product,” he said.
“JBT has been in the Middle East for over 30 years now and we have more than 200 customers around the region, so this is a great opportunity for us to welcome the customers in a very easy place to reach,” Collet added.
JBT will be exhibiting in Hall 4, Stand D4-44 at Gulfood Manufacturing 2019, which takes place at Dubai’s World Trade Centre from October 29-31.
Some of the latest trends in High Pressure Processing (HPP) from JBT Avure, including cold sterilization solutions for pet food, as well as the latest meat production line systems from JBT Tipper Tie will be among the highlights in and around the JBT booth at this year’sProcess Expo, which takes place in Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center from October 8-11. The DSI 800 S Waterjet system for portioning pizza, pie and other prepared foods will also feature in a special ‘Shark Tank’-style innovation contest to be held as part of Process Expo’s Innovation Showcase and Awards.
The US’ largest trade show dedicated to bringing the latest technology and integrated solutions to all segments of the food and beverage processing and packaging industries, Process Expo 2019 is expected to attract attendees from a cross section of vertical markets worldwide.
Under the theme, “JBT – We’re With You, Now Even Further Down the Line”, JBT will be presenting the full portfolio of Protein Preservation and Liquid Foods products to Primary Processing through Further Processing and Packaging Solutions. The show will also feature two of the newest members of the JBT family – ProSealand Prime Equipment Group.
Complete solutions Among the solutions being highlighted at the JBT Booth will be A&B Process Systems’ READYGo CIP, a family of compact skids featuring Clean-In-Place technology for easy maintenance. With a total of 12 models developed to meet customer needs, each of the READYGo CIP is frame mounted and designed to fit within standard trailers, meaningtransportation and installation is streamlined and efficient.
JBT’s Avure Technologies will be another major presence at Process Expo 2019. As well as having an equipment display at the JBT booth, Avure’s Kevin Kennedy will be delivering a presentation on “The Latest Trends in High Pressure Processing, including Pet Food” in Theater II — Booth 4568 at 11 AM on October 8.
Water Re-Use will be a key theme for Prime Equipment Group during the show, with the recent JBT addition looking at how to save water, money and go green by capturing, filtering and re-using water in chicken processing, saving liters per bird in the process. Prime’s custom-engineers deliver complete systems tailored to individual plant needs.
