JBT trae a Expo Carnes 2019 innovaciones para cárnicos, avícolas y lácteos

JBT esta dando especial relevancia a una variedad de soluciones de última tecnología dirigidas a los procesadores mexicanos y centroamericanos de productos cárnicos, avícolas y lácteos, durante una de las expos comerciales más importantes para la industria de las proteínas, Expo Carnes & Lácteos 2019, que se llevará a cabo el día de hoy hasta el 28 de febrero en el norte de México, en la ciudad de Monterrey.

Aunque anteriormente se enfocaba principalmente en la industria de la carne, el evento que se celebra cada dos años, ahora incorpora a los sectores avícola y lácteo, y atrae a cada vez más delegados de la industria, provenientes de todo México y Centroamérica, brindando así un valioso foro para las más recientes innovaciones de JBT, como afirmó Fernando Boulton de JBT.

Una de estas novedades es el Frigoscandia SuperCONTACT® Contact Crust Freezer, ingenioso método de refrigeración mecánica que crea una costra superficial en los productos avícolas y otros productos frágiles, de formas delicadas, o pegajosos, antes del último paso de congelación total. La ventaja principal de este sistema es que permite mantener la forma y apariencia del producto, al mismo tiempo que evita la pérdida de masa y el obscurecimiento de los líquidos que se inyectan al producto.

Destinados a este mismo sector se encuentran los equipos de JBT para la preparación de soluciones de salmuera, comúnmente utilizadas para mantener los productos avícolas en condiciones óptimas; entre estos equipos destaca el JBT Wolf-tec Polar Dissolver, un tanque de mezclado, diseñado para mezclar, enfriar y transportar salmueras y marinados. 

A este equipo lo complementa la tecnología para la inyección de salmuera Wolf-tec de JBT que abarca desde los IMAX SMARTline Injectors, hasta los IMAX Conveyor Belt Injectors; un referente en la industria en términos de desempeño, consistencia y confiabilidad.

JBT brings meat, dairy and poultry innovations to Expo Carnes 2019

JBT is highlighting a range of cutting-edge solutions for meat, poultry and dairy processors in Mexico and Central America at one of the region’s leading trade exhibitions for the protein sector, Expo Carnes & Lácteos 2019, which takes place from February 26-28 in the northern Mexican city of Monterrey.

Previously focused primarily on the meat industry, the biennial event now incorporates the dairy and poultry sectors and is attracting increasing numbers of industry delegates from across Mexico and Central America, presenting a valuable forum for JBT’s recent innovations, according to JBT’s Fernando Boulton.

One such innovation is the Frigoscandia SuperCONTACT® Contact Crust Freezer (above), an ingenious method of mechanical refrigeration which gives a superficial crust to red meats, poultry and other delicate, shape-sensitive, sticky products before final full freezing. The chief advantage of this system, Boulton explains, is that it helps maintain product shape and appearance, while also helping prevent weight loss due to dehydration, and the costly loss brine previously injected into the product.


Also for the same industry are JBT’s equipment for preparing brine (salt and water) solutions that are commonly used to enhance red meat and poultry products at optimum conditions, including the JBT Wolf-tec Polar Dissolver, a mixing tank designed to mix, chill and transport brines and marinades. 

This is complemented by JBT Wolf-tec brine injection technology from the IMAX SMARTline Injectors through to the IMAX Conveyor Belt Injectors; the industry standard for performance, consistency, and reliability.

iOPS: the joined-up solution to real-time problems

Collecting and learning from data drawn in real-time from systems and machinery can detect potential issues before they become problems or even improve the overall efficiency of operations. This is the theory behind Intelligent Operations or iOPS, the latest stage in delivering more joined-up, efficient system management solutions, which is now being offered by JBT to customers worldwide.

As Matthew Jin, JBT’s IoT (Internet of Things) Program Manager explains, JBT iOPS systems collect information and data from equipment as part of a solution that enables customers to make vital, timely decisions to improve operational running or deal with problems.

“JBT iOPS delivers a connected device experience where we can collect data and convert it into actionable insights,” he says. “Through decades of industry know-how and expertise, we can analyze and detect issues before they become a bigger problem. Through analytics, we can detect issues quickly to keep equipment running efficiently day in and day out.”

Data visualization
Provided as a turnkey solution, JBT specialists visit customers to install iOPS hardware and software, which enables the collection of up-to-the-second information from equipment and machinery. Once completed, customers can access the information through their laptop, mobile device or tablet where a program will enable them to visualize the data. JBT can customize and tailor information displays into dashboards and reports, which provide customers with vital data covering everything from yield to production to alarms and errors.

“Customers can’t afford to have downtime and they need critical equipment to be running at optimum levels, so being able to monitor key performance indicators from those processes helps customers drive throughput, improve yields and where possible avoid defects,” explains Jin.

“With real-time notification and smart reporting, iOPS empowers our customers to drive success.  In the end, everyone’s a winner when we let data do the talking.”

JBT innovations on show at IPPE 2019

JBT is highlighting innovative solutions for both raw and further processing at this week’s IPPE 2019 exhibition, which takes place at Atlanta’s Georgia World Congress Center until February 14. Incorporating new technologies, the systems offer cutting-edge solutions – from waterjet portioning to flexible X-ray units – that enable companies to maximize efficiency, hygiene and throughput.

The latest addition to JBT’s portfolio of portioning equipment, the DSI 800 S Portioning System with Robotic Harvesting enhances the proven DSI 800 series by delivering higher throughput with lower maintenance and operating costs than competing alternatives. The DSI 800 S delivers high throughput waterjet portioning for a wide range of foods, including trimming and portioning of premium red meat steaks, poultry pork bellies, fish and selected baked products.


JBT will also be highlighting the XVision Flexscan, a completely new flexible technology platform for contaminant detection in wet or dry production environments. It will allow customers to achieve tailored levels of performance to meet ever changing and more complex detection criteria. With the ability to quickly update detection technology, customers will have the ability to become more efficient, bring in new business and seamlessly adjust to new regulations.

Among other JBT solutions, visitors to the booth can learn about clean-technology High Pressure Processing (HPP) from JBT Avure, chilling and weighing systems from JBT CAT, and JBT’s consistency in providing effective options for coating and frying. Meeting customers’ IoT needs is another JBT priority, and visitors to the booth will be able to see how the iOPS system can help your organization take the first step in the digital transformation journey.

New products take centerstage for JBT at IPPE 2019

JBT will be bringing one its largest ever presences to this year’s International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE), with two large scale booths and a range of solutions developed for the needs of companies in the poultry and meat industries. Featuring two adjacent 5,000 sq ft booths, JBT’s participation in the 2019 edition of the show, which takes place from February 12-14 in the Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, Georgia, will also be notable for several exciting new product introductions for cooking, chilling and portioning.

An important event not just in the US, but globally, JBT’s Marketing Communications Manager Toni Fant says IPPE functions not just as a gathering place for the industry, but also an important forum for setting the agenda for the year ahead.

“The IPPE is important because it’s a key protein show globally which highlights the world’s largest annual display of equipment and technology used in protein processing,” she says. “IPPE gives us an opportunity to interface with the marketplace, roll-out new product launches and set the tone for the year. It also provides another touchpoint to interact with existing customers, as well as many other industry decision makers and influencers, while also serving as a type of “barometer” of the economy and the industry.”


Product innovations
For JBT in particular, Fant says the company will highlight an expanded portfolio for the raw and further processing segments, including portioning, weighing, marination, chilling, freezing, coating, frying, cooking, xray inspection, clipping and packaging, and high pressure processing equipment.

JBT will particularly focus on its innovative new product introductions. Chief among these will be the official launch of the Stein® TwinDrum™ 1000 Spiral Oven, which follows the successful introduction of the Stein TwinDrum 600 Spiral Oven in Europe and Asia. Designed for the greater production volumes in North America, the Stein TwinDrum 1000 Oven offers efficient two-zone spiral cooking with uniform temperature and excellent roasting capabilities.

The DSI™ 800 S Waterjet Portioner with Robotic Harvesting will also be a featured product at the show. The DSI 800 S Portioning Systems provide the industry’s highest throughput and most compact waterjet portioning system, The system reduces labor and increases yield via automated portioning and trimming.

During the event, JBT will host a presentation in the TechTalks Showcase on iOPS (Intelligent Operations) delivered by Matthew Jin, JBT’s IoT (Internet of Things) Program Manager.
